This fine and impressive fox hunting pin has been crafted in 18ct yellow and white gold with a silver setting.
This jabot* pin is ornamented to one end with a fox at full stretch, and to the other with a horse and rider.
The fox is ornamented with ten pavé set Dutch cut diamonds, and a single collet set cabochon cut ruby to represent the fox's eye.
The horse is embellished with a further 15 pavé set Dutch cut diamonds, with a collet set cabochon cut sapphire representing its eye.
The rider is accented with hand painted enamels, showing wear in keeping with age.
The 18ct white gold pin is secured via a push fit sleeve to the reverse of the horse and rider.
* Jabot pins were initially worn when men's shirts had a ruffle to the front. The pin was employed to keep the ruffle in place.
Jabot pins have subsequently been worn by men as either cravat or tie pins, and by ladies as brooches or lapel pins.
This antique 1900's hunting brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18ct gold and silver.
The brooch is supplied with an IDGL diamond grading report card.
