This fine and impressive vintage insect brooch has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold.
The brooch has been crafted in the form of a three dimensional insect.
The thorax of the insect is ornamented with a four claw set oval cut ruby.
The forewings, closed over the abdomen, are each embellished with three graduated pavé set round cut rubies, displayed alternately between two pavé set eight-cut diamonds.
The body of the insect is accented with a subtle millegrain decoration.
The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp, and is hallmarked to the underside of a foot with the 18ct gold fineness mark (750).
