0.55 ct Diamond and 21 ct Yellow Gold, Silver Set Swallow Brooch - Antique Victorian

£4,345.00

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique 0.55 carat diamond and 0.04 carat ruby, 21 carat yellow gold and silver set swallow brooch; part of our collection of swallow brooches

SKU A5340

This exceptional Victorian swallow brooch has been crafted in 21 ct yellow gold with a silver setting, and a 14 ct yellow gold pin.

Two of the swallows* incorporated in to the unusual design are set in silver and embellished with a total of sixty-nine, well colour matched Dutch cut diamonds of various sizes.

The arrangement is accented with the third swallow being entirely crafted in 21 carat yellow gold, with a textured finish representing its feathers.

Old round cut rubies have been used to create the birds' eyes.

This stunning and original Victorian brooch secures to the reverse with a 14 ct yellow gold hinged pin and push fit clasp.

The antique swallow brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card and has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 21 ct gold, silver and 14 ct yellow gold.

NOTE* During the Victorian era, sentimentality was reflected in jewellery designs, with swallows representing love, care and affection towards family and loved ones. The swallow exemplifying the concept of 'always returning'.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.

Date: Circa 1880

This impressive and unusual original antique brooch is exceptional quality, set with very high colour graded, well colour matched old cut diamonds.

The brooch is a very good gauge of gold and in excellent condition.

Reflections in photography may detract from this fine example of jewellery/estate jewelry.
