This fine and impressive antique brooch has been crafted in 9ct yellow gold with a silver setting.
The brooch has been modelled in the form of a dragonfly.
The pierced decorated, paired wings are each embellished with twelve pavé set Dutch cut diamonds of various sizes.
The thorax of the dragonfly is ornamented with a 4.5mm natural pearl and a larger collet set Dutch cut diamond, the attached segmented abdomen is collet set with a further six graduated Dutch cut diamonds.
The dragonfly's legs and head are crafted in 9ct yellow gold, set with two collet set cabochon cut rubies to represent the eyes.
The forelegs of the dragonfly are clutching a single silver collet set Old European round cut diamond.
The antique dragonfly brooch secures to the reverse with a 9ct yellow gold hinged pin and clasp, and benefits from the additional security of a clip and fine link safety chain.
This antique Victorian insect brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 9ct gold and silver.
The brooch is supplied with an IDGL diamond grading report card.
