This exceptional antique William IV sterling silver vinaigrette has been realistically modelled in the form of a book.
The surface of this antique vinaigrette is embellished with panels of engine turned decoration to each cover, in addition to a ribbed design replicating the spine of the book.
The inset sides of the box are ornamented with details reflecting the pages of the book.
The case is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover, embellished to the centre with a rectangular cartouche featuring the contemporary engraved initials 'JK'.
The cover opens to allow access to the hinged pierced decorated gilt grille, ornamented with pierced and engraved floral decoration.
This exceptional 1800's silver vinaigrette retains the original gilding to the interior.
