This exceptional antique George III three piece sterling silver tea service consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl.
Each piece of this impressive silver teaset has a circular rounded form onto bracket style feet, all in the Regency style.
The components of this exceptional service are embellished with chased fluted scrolling leaf ornamentation.
The decoration to each piece incorporates a scroll bordered vacant cartouche to either side.
The upper rim of the sugar bowl and cream jug, in addition to the shoulders of the teapot are encompassed with a cast and applied gadroon decorated border incorporating large scrolling leaf designs.
The Georgian silver teapot is fitted with a plain flush hinged hallmarked cover surmounted with the original and impressive sterling silver topped fluted carved finial; the flush hinge indicates the high quality of the service.
The teapot is fitted with the original, fine and impressive carved wood handle, with an exceptional cast sterling silver upper bifurcating terminal, comprising two snake's heads, and lower terminals composed of the snake's tails.
The cream jug and sugar bowl are fitted with S scroll handles with cast and applied scrolling leaf decoration to each handpiece.
The teapot is fitted with a fine and impressive spout ornamented with a large chased scrolling leaf design to the lower portion and upper plateau.
Each piece is supported by four impressive paw and scrolling leaf decorated bracket style feet, incorporating rosette floral designs, all in the Recency style.
The cream jug and sugar bowl retain the original gilded interiors.
