An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English Britannia standard silver teapot in the Queen Anne style; an addition to our silver teaware collection

This exceptional antique George V Britannia silver* teapot has a plain panelled octagonal form onto a collet style foot, all in the Queen Anne style.


The surface of the silver teapot is plain and embellished with the engraved mongram initial 'T' to one side.


This antique teapot retains the original hinged hallmarked domed panelled cover surmounted with an impressive cast silver urn style finial.


This fine Queen Anne style Britannia silver teapot is fitted with a shaped carved painted wood handle with a carved scroll style thumbpiece.


The teapot has a cast silver panelled swan necked spout, ornamented with a shaped plateau to the lip.


This impressive example of antique silver teaware bears the retailer's mark 'Mappin & Webb, London' to the underside.


* Britannia Silver - The Britannia silver standard of 958 (95.84% of fine silver), denoted by the icon of the seated Britannia holding an oval shield, was introduced by William III in 1697. This was to indicate the slightly higher standard of silver from sterling silver standard of 925 (92.5% of fine silver).

This fine example of antique teaware has been professionally polished.

The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface and part hallmarks struck to the rim of the cover are very clear.
