This fine and impressive antique cameo bangle has been crafted in 15ct yellow gold.
The cameo is set in relief to black hardstone, also set in relief to an ornate oval frame.
The carved cameo depicts the profile of an elegant lady, with classical features, dressed in period clothing incorporating a high ruffled lace collar.
The impressive 15ct yellow gold frame has two concentric ovals embellished with distinctive ball decorated borders; the smaller balls encircling the inner design have a textured finish.
The upper and lower borders of the frame are accented with a claw set pearls held within fluted, scroll decorated claw settings.
The associated bangle is also impressive, accented with feature shoulders which have a flared shoulders with a broad serrated finish at the junction with the frame.
The shoulders are further accented with a smaller flared and serrated design, terminating at a rectangular motif which reflects the angular 'cuff' where the shoulder unites with the hinged, plain oval, 15ct yellow gold bangle.
This fine example of Victorian jewellery secures to one side with an integrated push fit clasp.
As was the norm for this period, the gold cameo bangle is un-hallmarked so has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 15ct gold.
