An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Chinese Export Silver cigar case; part of our diverse Asian silverware collection

This exceptional antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) cigar case has a plain rectangular rounded form.


The anterior cover is embellished with an embossed decorated segmented iconic Chinese dragon design amidst clouds, all on a matte background.


The ornamentation to the cover incorporates a shield shaped cartouche displaying the contemporary engraved inscription 'W. J. Lyon Esq, Our best wishes go with you, Hong Kong, 1910'.


The posterior cover is ornamented with traditional embossed plum blossom foliate and floral decoration accented with perched birds in addition to a single bird in flight, also on a matte background.


The rounded sides of this antique silver cigar case are plain and unembellished.


This silver cigar case is fitted with a push fit catch, which when released reveals two hinged compartments.


This Chinese silver cigar case retains the original gilded interior.


The hallmarks struck to the catch of this impressive case include:

Maker's mark: WN (Wing Nam & Co)

Character mark: Untraced


This impressive case has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as sterling silver (925, 925/1000).
