Chopard is a renowned luxury watch and jewellery brand, known for its high-quality Swiss watches, which was founded in Sonvilier, Switzerland by Louis-Ulysse Chopard in 1860. Whilst their headquarters are in Geneva, there are manufacturing sites in Fleurier and Canton of Neuchâtel aiding the production of watch movements.

The company is one of the last major family-owned business in the horologist/watch industry and handles all aspects of the watch production. The founder of the company realised it was more profitable to create both the movement and case himself and over time the company has used innovative techniques to create diverse timepieces.

The company is highly involved in a variety of philanthropic work, which has provided Chopard with a respected reputation, including partnerships with Mille Miglia vintage car rally (since 1988), WWF, the José Carreras International Leukaemia Foundation, and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Since 1963 the company has been owned by the Scheufele family of Germany.
