This exceptional antique European silver tea and coffee set consists of a coffee pot, teapot, cream jug, sugar bowl and slop bowl.
Each piece of this five piece service has an oval oil can shaped form, apart from the slop bowl which has a circular rounded form.
The surface of each piece is embellished with fine and impressive bright cut engraved interlacing bands accented with a narrow zig zag border and wriggle work ornamentation.
The teapot and coffee pot are fitted with plain flush hinged hallmarked covers surmounted with the original carved painted wood and silver topped finials; the flush hinges indicates the high quality of the service.
The cover of each piece is encompassed with an identical border to that of the body, continuing to the upper plateau and across the hinge.
The teapot, coffee pot, cream jug and sugar bowl retain the original carved wood C shaped handles accented with plain scrolling thumbpieces.
The coffee pot and teapot are fitted with impressive plain tapering spouts.
