This exceptional Victorian English glass and sterling silver mounted whiskey jug has a plain, subtly tapering cylindrical form.

The upper portion of the glass body is fitted with a fine and impressive sterling silver mount with a lower supporting girdle.

The hallmarked hinged cover is surmounted with a plain thumbpiece.

This antique whiskey jug is fitted with tusk handle with sterling silver sockets; these terminals conjoin the aforementioned hallmarked mounts.

The base of this unusual antique whiskey jug is ornamented with star cut decoration to the underside.

Jugs incorporating tusk are rare to the market, especially those in such exceptional condition.
