This fine and impressive antique diamond brooch has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold with a silver setting.
The brooch has been modelled in the form of the Gordon Highlanders cap badge*.
The three-dimensional stag's head is embellished with twenty-nine pavé set Dutch cut diamonds.
The eyes of the stag are represented with two pavé set cabochon cut rubies.
The stag's head issues out of a coronet ornamented with five further Dutch cut diamonds, in addition to alternating three cabochon cut rubies and two cabochon cut green sapphires to the band, all pavé set.
This impressive crest design is encompassed with a layered leaf decorated border, accented with green hot enamel.
The lower portion of the brooch bears a blue enamel scroll bearing the contracted motto 'Bydand'**, completing the design.
The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and safety clasp.
This impressive cap badge/sweetheart brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 carat gold and silver.
This impressive Gordon Highlanders brooch with diamonds is supplied with an IDGL diamond and gemstone grading report card.
Such three-dimensional brooches are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
