This exceptional antique glass and sterling silver match striker has a globular form.

The surface of the antique glass body is embellished with a serrated texture which composes a match striker.

The upper portion of this antique glass match striker retains the original, plain hallmarked sterling silver mount.

The anterior portion of the mount is embellished with the contemporary engraved initials 'CD', in addition to the full hallmarks.

By virtue of its size and weight, this versatile match striker could be utilised as a paperweight.

Such large glass and silver examples are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

This antique match holder mount is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The glass body is in perfect condition

There are some minor blemishes to the silver mount, in keeping with age and use.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the mount have wear in keeping with age and location, but remain legible.
