The company grew in 1811 when Robert Hamilton took on two partners, Henry and James Glazbrook. Hamilton left the partnership in 1817 to dedicate his life to collecting paintings, however, the company retained the same name.

The business had many partners in the later years including: Henry and James Glazbrook, James Middleton, George Thoerpe, Charles Galliards, Alexander Rogers II, Henry Augustus Woolaston, William , Joseph, John and George Farrell Remfry, Robert John Dring and Thomas William Brookes.

Hamilton & Co originated in Calcutta, with later branches in Bombay, Delhi and Simla
