This exceptional hardstone antique scent bottle has a flask shaped form.
The exceptional antique (circa 1840) carved hardstone body of the bottle is embellished with three-dimensional Chinoiserie designs and the cover bears asymmetrical organic motifs.
This antique scent bottle is fitted with fine and impressive antique (circa 1890) silver mounts to the cylindrical collar and push cover, which opens to reveal the original taper holder.
The rim to the foot is embellished with engraved simplified dragonfly decoration, and the mount to the cover bears mystical creatures and floral decoration.
The plateau of the cylindrical mount bears the French maker's mark 'Maquet', and the underside of the foot bears an integrated striker*.
