This exceptional antique Indian silver sugar bowl has a circular rounded, compressed form.
The body of this silver bowl is embellished with a chased scene depicting a rural setting with iconic wild, indigenous animals.
The decoration to the body is flanked with simplified leaf decorated borders to the upper and lower portions.
The raised flared shoulders of the sugar bowl are encompassed with an applied moulded border accented with leaf designs.
This antique sugar bowl is fitted with two impressive cast silver C shaped handle with an exceptional chased decorated upper terminal modelled in the form of an elephant's head, with the handpiece reflecting the details of an elephant's trunk/proboscis.
The sugar bowl is supported by four bun style feet.
