NOTE*:
During the Victorian Era, non-precious pastes were a part of evening jewellery sets. They were also used in pieces intended to convey coded messages of romance, based on the colours of the pastes. Such crystals, which were made of high-lead-content glass and had a permanent foil backing, gave the illusion of almost any gemstone, including diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds and amethysts.
Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.
