SORRY ITEM SOLD

This exceptional antique sterling silver sidesaddle slipper stirrup has a classic nineteenth century South American form.

The curved footpiece is plain with a simple paralleling border.

The toe of this slipper is embellished with impressive chased interlacing scrolling leaf ornamentation incorporating a heart shaped motif to the lower portion and paralleling incurved rope twist decoration.

The footpiece is further ornamented with an impressive applied protruding rope twist decorated eight petal floral design.

This impressive side saddle slipper is fitted with a hinged yoke/arch embellished with a stylised floral and foliate spray with an angular suspension loop to the centre.

The terminals of the arch are conjoined with a plain shaped band to the understand; this band restricts the pivot movement of the yoke.
