This antique Scottish dirk is fitted with an exceptional carved wood handle embellished with a woven design and accented with studded silver to each cross section.
The circular rounded pommel of the handle is ornamented with a collet set smokey topaz.
The dirk is further ornamented with a silver mount encompassed with applied Scottish thistle and foliate decoration.
The steel blade of this impressive weapon is embellished with scrolling leaf designs accented with the battle names 'Salamanca', 'Fuentres d'Onor' and 'Busaco', in addition to the regiment number '42'.
The spine of the blade is ornamented with an alternating scalloped shaped design to the broad edge, all to a plain tip/false edge.
The posterior surface of the blade is plain and unembellished.
