These exceptional antique Spanish cast sterling silver candlesticks have a circular rounded, waisted knopped, tapering form to a circular spreading base, all in the French Empire style.
The waisted capitals are embellished with chased overlapping single scrolling leaf designs to the lower portion and retain the original detachable push fit sconces.
The capitals surmount an exceptional chased double-sided figural bust decorated knop.
The tapering column is encircled with a rounded knop ornamented with a stylised leaf decoration, in addition to a lobed knop to the lower portion.
The antique Spanish candlesticks have circular swept bases encompassed with further leaf ornamentation matching the design to that of the knopped column.
The rim of each candlestick is embellished with the contemporary engraved initials 'AV' in addition to the hallmarks:
