This magnificent and rare antique Edwardian sterling silver table lighter has been realistically modelled in the form of a slithering snake.
The large body of the snake is fitted with an impressive blackbuck antelope horn, creating an undulating ribbed formation.
This anterior portion of the cigar lighter is ornamented with a hallmarked sterling silver mount modelled in the form of a textured plinth supporting the snake's head embellished with chased decoration replicating the skin scales and anatomical features.
The snake's head retains the original bead eyes.
The anterior surface of this novelty silver snake lighter retains the original detachable hallmarked globular taper holder, securing with a screw fitment.
