The anterior and posterior surfaces of the handle of each piece is embellished with the classic King's shape ornamentation, including the shell design to the terminal, in addition to the central hourglass design; this hourglass device is the distinguishing feature of the pattern.

The reverse of the handle terminal is embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a stag passant before a tree.

This fine example of Georgian flatware has a plain rounded bowl with an impressive shell decorated heel to the reverse.
