The anterior surface of each handle, excluding the table knives, is embellished with the contemporary engraved initial 'C'.
The reverse of each spoon and anterior of each fork features a pip to the handle terminal.
The carving set, in addition to the table and dessert knives all retain the original composite handles.

The components of this canteen, including the original knives, were crafted by the Sheffield silversmiths Fattorini & Sons Ltd in 1938.
The original knives bear the maker's mark 'Fattorini & Sons Ltd, Bradford. Firth Stainless' to the stainless steel blades; one knife bears no maker's mark and has been crafted in the same size and style.

This exceptional sterling silver English cutlery set is fitted to the original and impressive oak wood lift up lid and two drawer canteen box.
The box is fitted with brass drawer and carrying handles in addition to an oval cartouche to the lid, embellished with the identical engraved initial 'C' as that to the handles.
The lid and hinged drawer supports are inlayed with paralleling satin wood borders.
The interior of this impressive presentation box bears a single inset panel to the rim displaying the maker/retailer's mark 'Fattorini & Sons Ltd, Bradford'.
