This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver champagne bottle holder has a plain circular cylindrical form in the form of a bomb case/shell.
The body and cover of this impressive holder are encircled with plain bands of applied decoration replicating the details of a projectile's fringing groove, rotating band and bourrelet.
The fully hallmarked tapering 'ogive' push fit cover is surmounted with a detachable screw fit hallmarked sterling silver 'fuze' finial.
The finial is ornamented with a simplified hexagonal bolt style ornamentation to the terminal.
