An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver coffee pot; an addition to our silver teaware collection

This exceptional antique sterling silver coffee pot has a plain tapering cylindrical form with a moulded base, all in the classic English George I style.


The plain body of this Victorian silver coffee pot is embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest depicting a lion sejant resting the dexter paw on a cross flory, all above the motto 'Magnanimiter Crucem Sustine' - Sustain the cross bravely*.


This impressive example of antique teaware is fitted with a domed hinged cover surmounted with a cast silver acorn style finial.


The coffee pot is fitted with an opposing scroll style carved painted wood side-handle with scrolling thumbpiece and fitted to plain cast sterling silver sockets.


The coffee pot has an impressive cast spout with plain applied moulded ornamentation to the socket and lip.

Date: 1891

This antique Victorian silver coffee pot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

There are some minor surface blemishes in keeping with age.

The interior of the coffee pot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

The bright cut engraved crest is very crisp and the cast ornamentation is very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the body and part hallmarks to the sleeve of the cover are very clear.


Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of Victorian silverware.
