This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver corkscrew has a cylindrical shaped form.
The hallmarked sterling silver handle of this antique corkscrew has a concave swirl design with bulbous convex fluted terminals.
The centre of the handpiece is fitted with a ball style finial incorporating a ring loop attachment.
The corkscrew is fitted with an iron grooved wire helix or 'worm'; this clockwise helix is intended for right-handed use and the groove adds strength.
Large silver handled examples of antique corkscrews are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
