This exceptional and rare antique Edwardian English sterling silver vesta case has a plain oval rounded form.

The surface of the vesta case is plain and embellished to the lower portion with an impressive protruding embossed ornament, modelled in the form of a fox's head.

This fine sterling silver vesta case has a hinged cover, incorporating a plain thumbpiece to the anterior edge.

The impressive and unusual case bears a ring loop attachment below the hinge, in addition to an integrated serrated panel/match striker.

This exceptional case was crafted by a renowned silversmith of smallwork, Sampson Mordan & Co Ltd.
