The body of the mug is embellished with an exceptional and unusual bright cut engraved scene depicting figures shearing sheep to one side and gathering crops with scythes to the other.
The decoration to the mug incorporates a large shaped cartouche in the form of a tree bordered clearing.
The upper flared rim of this fine sterling silver mug is encircled with an applied moulded border.
The mug is fitted with an impressive opposing scroll handle with impressive leaf decorated handpiece, incorporated into a scrolling thumbpiece, in addition to the upper and lower sockets.
This exceptional antique mug is supported by an impressive applied base incorporating four embossed scrolling leaf feet accented with leaf textures.
The interior of the mug retains the original gilding.
