Sterling Silver Napkin Rings - Antique Victorian

£1,595.00

An exceptional, fine and impressive set of six antique Victorian English sterling silver napkin rings - boxed; an addition to our dining silverware collection

SKU C8513

This exceptional set of antique Victorian silver napkin rings consists of six napkin rings, each with a circular shaped form.

The scalloped lozenge-shaped anterior surface of each napkin ring is embellished with a bright cut engraved interlacing scroll bordered cartouche, bearing a crest of a fleur-de-lis to the centre.

The cylindrical band of each napkin is ornamented with further bright cut engraved interlacing designs, incorporating quatrefoil floral motifs to the reverse.

These impressive Victorian silver napkin rings are fitted to an impressive hinged leatherette presentation box with a satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.

Such examples in this desirable shape and substantial size are becoming increasingly difficult to locate; these napkin rings are the finest of their type you could hope to acquire.

Maker: Henry John Lias & James Wakely

Date: 1879

This antique set of 6 silver napkin rings is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

Each component has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition.

The bright cut engraved decoration is all very crisp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each napkin ring are all very clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the superior gauge of silver.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of these examples of antique silverware.
