This exceptional Edwardian sterling silver playing card box has a rectangular form onto four bracket style feet.
The surface of this silver box is embellished with four panels, each retaining an antique period playing card displayed behind the original bevelled glass panel.
The silver border to each side is plain and unembellished.
This novelty box retains the original hallmarked hinged cover, with a subtly chamfered rim and securing with a hinged clasp; the interior of the cover bears the original gilding.
The cover of this antique silver box opens to reveal the original spring-loaded leatherette fitment, allowing for three packs of full-size multi-suit playing cards to be stored; the box is supplied with two associated packs of period playing cards.
