This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver and glass pot pourri basket has an oval rounded form.

The shaped glass body of the basket is embellished with impressive cut glass scroll and foliate decoration.

The body is fitted with a plain hallmarked silver gilt mount, ornamented with a gadroon decorated border to the rim.

The basket retains the original hallmarked covers embellished with impressive pierced and applied decorated interlacing stemmed floral and foliate designs.

This antique basket retains the original rope twist decorated swing handle, ornamented with further foliate designs to the handpiece.

The surface of the basket retains the original gilding.
