Sterling Silver Taper Candlesticks - Antique Victorian (1845)

These exceptional antique Victorian cast sterling silver taper candlesticks have a plain classical English form.

The cylindrical capitals are encircled with bands of tooled decoration and retain the original hallmarked detachable push fit sconces.

The waisted section of each column features a plain panelled quatrefoil shaped knop.

These Victorian taper candlesticks have quatrefoil shaped stepped bases with central plain sunken wells.

Each taper candlestick does not have a weighted base.

These solid silver candle holders are an exceptional gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of each base and full hallmarks to the sleeve of each sconce are all very clear; the full hallmarks to the base of one candlestick has wear in keeping with age, but remains clear and legible.
