An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of antique Georgian English sterling silver tea caddies; an addition to our silver teaware collection

These exceptional antique George II sterling silver tea caddies have a circular baluster shaped form.


The surface of each antique tea caddy is embellished with very sharp, finely chased floral and foliate decoration, incorporating a scroll bordered vacant cartouche to either side.


The ornamentation to the body of each piece incorporates a plain applied moulded girdle.


These caddies are fitted with a cylindrical push fit covers encircled with leaf decorated textures.


The covers are surmounted with the original cast sterling silver leaf decorated finials.


These impressive antique tea caddies are each supported by an exceptional cast circular spreading foot, embellished with further floral and foliate ornamentation.


These antique silver caddies, crafted by the prominent tea canister specialist and renowned Georgian silversmith Samuel Taylor, are the finest examples of their type you could hope to acquire.

These antique sterling silver tea caddies are a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The chased decoration is exceptionally sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the caddies are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
