These exceptional antique 17th century sterling silver spoons have been crafted in the Trefid Rat Tail pattern.
The anterior surface of each silver spoon handle terminal is plain and unembellished.
The reverse surfaces of the Trefid-shaped terminals feature the contemporary engraved initials 'MTM'.
The reverse of each impressive example of antique flatware features a scroll decorated rat tail to the rounded bowl.
NOTE: After surviving the Great Fire of London the records at the London Assay office were destroyed by fire in 1681; their catalogues and documentation began again in 1697. Due to this unfortunate event we are unable to associate a maker to these spoons.
