This exceptional antique George V sterling silver wax jack has a square shaped form onto four legs.
The wax jack has a central column surmounted with an unusual capital comprised of a cast sterling silver sprung hinged wick trimmer, accented with an inset circular taper holder to the centre of the blades.
This scissor component is embellished with engraved simplified foliate designs.
The lower portion of the wax jack features a scalloped square base accented with further scrolling engraved designs.
This antique silver wax jack is fitted with a cast silver elongated handle to one side embellished with further engraved foliate designs, in addition to the contemporary engraved initials 'I.Z.' to the handpiece.
The wax jack is fitted with four cast legs terminating with plain trefoil shaped feet.
The wax jack retains the original wax coil.
