Sterling Silver and Enamel Cigarette Case - Vintage George VI (1949)

This exceptional vintage sterling silver cigarette case has a plain rectangular form with subtly bevelled sides.

The anterior cover is embellished with engine turned decoration accented with an exceptional central hot enamel design depicting a mallard duck taking flight amidst naturally overgrown terrain by a vast water source.

The posterior cover and sides of each cover of this antique cigarette case are encompassed with further engine turned decoration.

This case is fitted with a push fit catch, which when released reveals two hinged compartments.

This fine example of vintage silverware features further engine turned decoration to the interior of each cover; this indicates the high quality of the piece.

This vintage case is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.

The enamel is in perfect condition.

The engine turned decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to interior of the front cover, and part hallmarks to the interior of the back cover are clear in keeping with age and location.
