This fine and impressive antique Victorian sterling silver and glass set consists of a water jug, a cordial jug and two original glass tumblers.
The blown glass body of each jug has been modelled in the form of an ancient leather jug onto a circular spreading foot.
The antique glass cordial jug is fitted with an impressive plain hallmarked sterling silver rim and spout.
The glass jugs have plain angular glass handles.
The original matching tumblers each have a lobed cylindrical form onto a plain circular spreading foot.
Each piece of this very impressive set is embellished with acid etched decoration depicting a royal coronet amidst the initials 'CR' in addition to the date '1646'*.
NOTE: * The crown and initials bear reference to the King Charles I, the monarch of England, Scotland and Ireland from March 1625 to January 1649.
