This antique George III English sterling silver fruit fork has two tines/prongs.
The fork blade is embellished with engraved simplified floral and leaf designs, in addition to the featured lion passant and duty mark.
The hinged blade of this antique fruit fork pivots and is contained within the handle.
Either side of the original ribbed mother of pearl handle is ornamented with inset bright cut engraved navette and heart-shaped panels.
This impressive example of antique silverware features no maker's mark; the maker is therefore unknown.
