This antique jewellery box is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover incorporating an impressive tortoiseshell panel ornamented with silver piqué work vacant oval cartouche encompassed with an incurved hexadecagon, batwing style border.
The anterior edge of the cover features a plain rounded thumbpiece.
The body is supported by four applied feet accented with simplified scrolling sockets.
The silver and tortoiseshell box is fitted with the original satin lined interior.
The weighted base retains the original maroon leatherette covering to the underside.
