This fine antique George V sterling silver jewellery/trinket boxes has a plain circular form.
The surface of the body and sides of the cover are plain and unembellished.
The box is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover incorporating an impressive tortoiseshell panel ornamented with a silver piqué work elliptical scrolling design with a simplified suspended festoon to the nadir.
The cover opens to reveal the original velvet lined interior.
The box is supported by four pierced decorated feet accented with applied bead ornamentation, each with a trifurcating socket.
The weighted base of this impressive trinket box is fitted with leatherette to the underside.
