£1,095.00

A fine and impressive vintage 0.85 carat citrine, amethyst, tourmaline, ruby and 9 carat gold 'cart' brooch by Alabaster & Wilson; part of our diverse vintage jewellery and estate jewelry collections

SKU A6410

This fine and impressive vintage brooch has been crafted in 9 ct yellow, white and rose gold.

The brooch has been crafted in the form of a cart and pail.

The cart is ornamented with two round cut citrines, two round cut amethysts, a round cut green tourmaline, a round cut pink tourmaline and a round cut ruby, individually four claw set to the centre of the design with a total gemstone carat weight of 0.85 ct.

The canopy of the cart consists of eight slats, crafted in alternating 9 ct white gold and 9 ct rose gold.

The cart has two pierced decorated cartwheels, and a 9 ct white gold pail suspends and articulates from the left side of the design.

The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and safety clasp.

The brooch is hallmarked to the reverse with the maker's mark for Alabaster & Wilson 'A & W', the 9 ct gold fineness mark (9.375), the Birmingham Assay Office hallmark (anchor) and the date letter for 1966 (R).

The brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.

NOTE* Alabaster & Wilson was co-founded in 1887 by Arthur Alabaster and Thomas Wilson in Birmingham. This producer of high quality gold and diamond jewellery remains as one of the longest running family businesses in the UK today.
