This stunning antique brooch has been crafted in 18 ct yellow gold with a platinum setting.
The 18ct yellow gold bar is ornamented to the centre with a feature millegrain decorated yellow gold collet set 9.30ct cabochon cut opal.
The feature gemstone is encircled by forty Old European round cut diamonds, platinum set to the cluster arrangement and completing the design.
The antique opal brooch is secured to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp.
This brooch has been hallmarked to the side of the plain bar with the French import mark (owl); this mark is used for finished articles brought into France to be examined by the French assay office.
The brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 ct gold and platinum.
This 19th century opal brooch is supplied with an independent diamond grading card.
