These exceptional antique Indian silver dishes have been realistically modelled in the form of wheelbarrows.
The interior surface of each novelty silver bon bon dish is embellished with impressive embossed scenes depicting rural hunting scenes and iconic wild, indigenous animals.
The posterior of each wheelbarrow design incorporates two horizontal pales with subtly scrolling terminals replicating the vessels handles, in addition to two vertical supports allowing the piece to stand in situ.
The silver wheel of each piece bears lobed spokes and a plain applied border to the rim; this functional wheel conjoins to the dish with a plain frame to the sides.
The tapering well of each dish is plain and unembellished.
Such examples in a matching pair crafted in Indian silver are rare to the market.
