This exceptional and composite Hanoverian pattern silver cutlery set has been crafted by various silversmiths* between 1771-1820; to enable this to be provided as a full twelve person service there are two dessert forks of a differing size.
The service is supplied with replacement vintage sterling silver pistol handled table and dessert knives** crafted by C J Vander Ltd in 1963; the components will have been crafted in the same year but due to the hallmarking system the items are struck with the date letters g and h.
The vintage silver copies of early knives could be replaced with traditional contemporary sterling silver Old English handled knives upon request, for further information please contact Andrew Campbell directly.
This antique flatware service is supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduces tarnishing.
* The basic service was comprised by silversmiths including: John Dalrymple, John Laughlin Senior/John Lloyd Senior/John Locker, Michael Keating, William Ward, Samuel Neville.
** Predominately all antique silver canteens have replacement knives as the originals have not stood the test of time.
