These exceptional antique George III Irish silver asparagus/serving tongs have a plain undulating form.
The surface of these 19th century silver asparagus tongs are plain and unembellished, apart from the bridge which displays a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a stag's head.
The pinching action of the tongs is guided to the medial point with a rectangular brace secured to one side with two screw fitments.
The elongated blades of the tongs have an undulating surface to the interior.
