This exceptional and rare antique Edwardian sterling silver wine bottle holder/handle has a circular collar to an elongated handpiece.

The tapering circular collar of the holder is embellished with impressive chased and engraved floral decoration on a textured background.

The decoration to the collar incorporates a vacant cartouche to the anterior portion.

This silver bottle holder is fitted with an elongated handle ornamented with impressive chased fruiting vine decoration, accented with an engraved scrolling leaf decorated bolster in junction with the aforementioned collar.

The lower portion of the handpiece bears a hooked terminal; this allows the punt of the bottle to sit securely in place.

Such examples are typically crafted in electroplate; solid sterling silver examples are rare and highly desirable.
