Chinese Export Silver Mug - Antique Circa 1850

This impressive antique Chinese Export Silver (CES) mug has a cylindrical tapering form.

The surface of this Chinese mug is embellished with engraved simplified floral and foliate decoration incorporating three plain bordered panels.

Each panel displays an individual applied decorated illustration depicting blossoms, flowers, baskets and other Chinese icons.

The decoration to the body of this Chinese silver christening mug incorporates a small plain applied oval cartouche which displays the contemporary engraved initials 'FIMB'.

This fine antique CES mug is fitted with a subtly tapering C scroll handle ornamented with a knotted wood effect texture.

The interior of this impressive mug is gilded.
