The upper portion of the body is encompassed with simplified, undulating floral and foliate decoration, below an applied moulded border.
The decoration to the body incorporates a scroll bordered cartouche to either side, each embellished with an engraved coat of arms.
This impressive example of Georgian teaware is fitted with a cast sterling silver oriental figural handle accented with impressive leaf decorated sockets.
This George III silver cream jug is supported by four impressive cast and applied paw feet with impressive figural mask sockets in junction with the body.
The underside of this impressive cream jug bears the original scratch weight of 13 troy ounces and 14 pennyweights (13.7 troy ounces); as to be expected the measured weight has subtly diminished in keeping with age to 13.4 troy ounces.
