Sterling Silver Jewellery Box - Antique Edward VIII

This fine antique Edward VIII sterling silver jewellery box has a rectangular form with plain rounded corners.

The surface of the jewellery box is embellished with fine and impressive panels of engine turned decoration.

This antique silver jewellery box is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover featuring a fine and impressive applied 9 carat yellow gold thumbpiece, ornamented with chased floral decoration.

The interior displays a bespoke cedar wood and navy blue velvet fitment which provides a central well bordered by integrated ring holders at either side.

This impressive antique silver box has a weighted base with a leatherette cover to the underside.

This antique silver jewellery box is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition.

The hinged cover to the box has subtly contorted and no longer sits flush when closed; this impressive box can be considered in excellent presentation condition, in keeping with age.

The engine turned and chased decoration is all very sharp.

Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the box and part hallmarks to the surface of the cover are all very clear.
